This canasta (translated ‘basket’ in English) is the perfect way to pivot from sunny days to fall, seamlessly! Once again, we merged the simplicity of this utilitarian design with modern style, color and versatility. Its sturdy construction and size make it perfect for many uses. Whether it’s for the market, work, or gym, it will handle whatever you toss in it. Our collaboration with master weavers provides sustainable, dignified work to several families. Each canasta comes with a coordinating tassel handmade by the same family, but you can add other beaded ornaments from our Lake Atitlan collection, or a silk remnant from our Personal Accessories category.

True art and craft combine to make this exquisite, one-of-a-kind, hand embroidered vintage ceremonial huipil. An incredibly rare find, this textile was created in San Mateo, Ixtatlan, located in the western highlands of Guatemala. Its brightly colored, hand-dyed cotton threads are hand embroidered on a double thickness of cotton fabric. This huipil is completely reversible, an indication of its value and rarity. The beautiful artisan hands that created this elaborate textile devoted up to one year to complete this masterpiece. They are no longer being produced due its complex construction and extensive hours of labor. This special piece would grace any home and make a stunning statement. Treasure it as well as the story it tells.
